The Intermediate Writing Class – Structure and Style

$50.00$150.00

Our writing program offers a structured approach that builds both the organization and style of students’ writing, providing a clear roadmap to success. It starts from Prep/Y1 level and goes up to Y10.

Detail Description

  1. Structure
Through nine foundational models, we guide students step-by-step in mastering essential writing skills, including note making and outlining, writing from notes, retelling stories, summarizing references, writing from pictures, summarizing multiple sources, inventive writing, formal essays, and critiques.
  1. Style
By focusing on strong verbs, quality adjectives, and varied sentence openers, students gradually improve their vocabulary, sentence structures, and overall writing sophistication.   Unlike many programs that overwhelm students by asking them to fill a blank page with creative ideas, we teach them “how” to write first. This process naturally leads them to discover “what” to write. Our comprehensive, systematic approach also serves as a blueprint for developing critical thinking skills. As Andrew Pudewa, founder of IEW, explains, “You can’t get something out of a brain that isn’t in there to begin with. If you want to think of something, you have to ask yourself a question. Thinking and learning to think is integrally connected with learning to ask good questions.”   By helping students organize their thoughts and ideas, we empower them to write with clarity and confidence while strengthening their ability to think critically and ask the right questions.
